Story Behind the Painting
Painted in 2020, 'This Life We Live' reflects the chaotic journey of life, depicting the battle between darkness and light, and showing how we emerge stronger. The piece features a bold, strong woman with pursed lips, prominent cheekbones, and a powerful stare. Her face, illuminated in red light with dark circles under her eyes, suggests she has endured life’s battles, growing tired and cold to the world around her. Stars on her cheekbones, almost patriotic, symbolize her purpose and duty.
A second face on her back, with warmer tones and a softer expression, represents her hidden, gentle side. This contrast signifies the mask she wears to the outside world, further emphasized by a drama mask tattoo on her arm. Created during the first lockdown of 2020, the painting encapsulates the madness of that period, with motifs like birds and the dual-toned face symbolizing the balance of life and the transition from darkness to light.
The mask of '65' symbolises age, while the word 'hope' on her neck, hidden in shadow, illustrates how hope is often obscured but ever-present. Her hair, reminiscent of the Belle Époque era, and her command over the birds around her, further enhance the painting’s depiction of strength and resilience.

Description
Our prints are high-quality giclée prints produced on either heavyweight museum-quality rough watercolour paper or artists’ canvas. Every print is signed by the artist and comes with a certificate of authenticity, also signed by him.

Framing options can be selected online, and once your artwork is prepared for collection at our gallery, you will be notified by phone in accordance with your preference.
Hand Embellishment
Hand-embellished orders are taken by the artist back to his studio where he personalises each one using either paint, pencil, or pen. He adds colour or detail that is unique to your piece making them an original, one-off piece. These pieces are numbered 1/1 and come with a certificate of authenticity.
Shipping & Collections
In-store Collection is available for all orders. Select 'Pick-Up' at checkout and choose your local gallery. Framed prints are available for collection in 2 - 3 weeks.
Local Van Delivery Service is available on the island of Ireland. Please choose "Ship" at checkout and then "Local Delivery". Once your order has been processed, we’ll be in touch to arrange a delivery date that suits you.
Worldwide Shipping is available for rolled artwork. Rolled prints are shipped via First Class recorded delivery in secure postal tubes and require a signature upon receipt. You will receive a text/email confirming your order has been fulfilled and posted. These notifications include tracking information (some countries excluded).
