Celebrate Father's Day with Art: A Gift That Lasts a Lifetime

Father's Day is just around the corner! It's the perfect time to show appreciation for the amazing father figures in our lives.

Terry fondly remembers his father, Frank Bradley. "He worked hard, encouraged us every day, and loved and looked after us and Mum". In honour of his father, Terry named one of his pieces 'Frankie'. Although Frank never worked in the Shipyard, he was a hardworking man throughout his life, and this artwork serves as a tribute to his enduring legacy.

Frank was artistic, like his son, and a talented car pinstriper, hand-painting straight lines on cars freehand for Belfast's leading car dealership, Charles Hurst. Terry remembers the thin paint brushes his father used, with long thick bristles. He recalls how his father would stand back, examine the length of the car, and then step forward to paint the straight continuous line in one stroke with perfect precision.

Bradley was raised on the volatile streets of North Belfast. He vividly remembers the long nights when his father stood at the bedroom window, cigarette in mouth, watching the dark streets outside the house, always aware that trouble could erupt at any moment.

Cherishing the time with his own sons, Zak and Hal, and his daughter Ella, Terry finds joy and inspiration in watching them all grow and thrive. He strives to be a source of support and love for his children, creating lasting memories and nurturing their talents.
