Rory Gilmore - The Musical Genius Behind Terry Bradley Art

Rory Gilmore - The Musical Genius Behind Terry Bradley Art

Rory Gilmore has worked with us since he was just 14 years old. From DJing live events to carefully curating our exhibition soundtracks, Rory has been an irreplaceable cog in the Bradley Art machine, who has made our events come to life.

He has showcased a tasteful sonic palette well beyond his young years, he traverses genres with ease, from dark dub and disco to progressive electronic and dance. Over the past 7 years, Rory has released music on labels such as Extended Play, Solar Reef, Hardline and Duality Trax, starting out on the softer, instrumental side of music, and naturally gravitating to the deeper, darker side of the electronic spectrum. His skilled and unique productions have been championed on the likes of NTS, Rinse FM, Boiler Room, Balamii, BBC R1 and many more.

Over the past two years Rory has also curated the soundtracks to both our ‘Exodus’ (2023) and ‘Dockers and Dolls’ (2024) exhibitions at the Titanic Centre Belfast. His vast knowledge and experience resulted in the perfect mix of music to truly capture the message behind the exhibitions. This year Rory also selected and mixed the music of our immersive experience at the exhibition this year, a phenomenal addition to the experience as a whole.

Alongside being an accomplished DJ he has also been playing drums for over a decade, with bands such as ‘Lemonade Shoelace’, who picked up the Vans Most Wanted award, and played shows in Europe and North and South America, supporting artists like Yungblud and Unknown Mortal Orchestra.

Sharing the work of young creatives from Northern Ireland is a pillar of the Bradley Art Prize, as Terry remembers himself how hard it is to be a young creative. The competition’s aim is to give a platform that isn’t always accessible to young or new artists, which is why being able to have a young local DJ assist in it’s production was even more lovely. It has been a pleasure working with such a talented young man from our wee island. We consider it a privilege to have been able to watch his creative career grow from a young age and can’t wait to see what Rory achieves.
